- Understand how to assess the deteriorating resident using the ABCD approach
- Understand what to do when someone is choking
- Understand when and how to put someone in the recovery position
- Know how to identify a cardiac arrest
- Know how to initiate and maintain effective lung ventilation
- Know how to initiate and maintain effective chest compressions
- Understand how to use an Automated External Defibrillator
- Know how to report and record details of an emergency event
- Explain when to apply the local policy on ‘Do Not Attempt CPR’
