This course, Introducing FGM, aims to provide a foundational understanding of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), a harmful practice involving the partial or total removal of the external female genitalia for non-medical reasons. Recognized internationally as a human rights violation, FGM poses severe health risks, including chronic pain, infections, complications during childbirth, and long-term psychological trauma such as anxiety and depression.
