This training is designed to help people understand what Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is, why it happens, and how it affects girls and women. FGM is a harmful practice where parts of a girl’s genitals are removed or damaged for non-medical reasons. It is often done because of cultural beliefs, but it has no health benefits and can cause serious physical and emotional problems.
What You Will Learn:

- Laws and Human Rights: We’ll cover the laws in Kenya and around the world that protect girls from FGM, as well as the human rights issues involved.
- How to End FGM: You will learn about the efforts being made to stop FGM, including community engagement, education, and advocacy.
- The Role of Men and Boys: You’ll explore how men and boys can play a role in stopping FGM and supporting women’s rights.
