There have been warnings about the potential consequences of a pandemic for many years, yet COVID-19 caught us off guard and the toll on the globalĀ community will continue to be felt long into the future. As our communities emerge from varying states of lockdown, our lives will return to a new normal in which much has changed. For the moment, we must learn to live with the novel coronavirus, and this pandemic will certainly not be the last. The pandemic has provoked unprecedented challenges for work, study, relationships, and health, but also offered opportunities to reflect on how we currently exist as a society and how we can support each other better.
