Hate Crime Awareness week – Lets Talk Disability

Conversation to understand the impact hate crimes and incidents have on people with disabilities.

About this event

As part of Nottingham’s Hate Crime Awareness week events we are bringing people together to begin a journey to understand and explore the impact of disability hate crime.

We will listened to lived experiences , share thoughts and explore how to support and how we can increase confidence to support reporting.

We will hear form :

  • Notts police Hate crime team – picture of reporting
  • Amanda Hanson from Trent University – talking about the research she is involved in looking at disability hate crime.
  • Mencap – social media tools to support people with learning disability tackle hate crime
  • Disability Support – Bias and stereotyping
